The Wharton School has an interesting article about employees "flipping the switch" when they leave work. Many questions abound. Can they? Will they? Should they? Are they?
There's no doubt that technolgical advances have obliterated the boundaries between work and non-work time. Saying that the lines have been blurred is an understatement. Employees have a real problem with detachment and many don't even realize it.
I liked seeing the article mention some companies that are trying to set the expectation for better boundaries. However, I found it very interesting that only one of them was an American company (Google). Clearly, the U.S. is lagging any trend to work towards better work-life balance for its employees.
